- Item donor Susan H. Douglas's notes indicate that this plastic sheet originally was the base of a three-dimensional display
sponge rubber donkey and elephant figurines were affixed to its top. The figurines had decayed sufficiently so that they were discarded by Cornell University in 1975. Susan Douglas dates the item to the 1956 Presidential campaign.
