Independence Day commemorative ribbon issued on July 4, 1840. Ribbon promotes the candidacy of William Henry Harrison and the fact that his father, Benjamin A. Harrison, signed the Declaration of Independence. The 1841 may refer to the date when it was anticipated that Harrison would be taken from the plough to serve as President.
