- Map of named settlement neighborhood subdivisions in Mimure village. As shown, the settlement is bifurcated as "this side" and "that side" (egoda) by the Mimure brook. Each side is understood as a quadripartite neighborhood plan and named as follows: palle gaemmadda, (lower neighborhood), uda gaemmadda (upper neighborhood), maeda gaemmadda (middle neighborhood) and alut gaemmaedda (new neighborhood) The paddy land areas surrounding the settlement have been distorted so as to include all dwellings in a single image. Rangama is a pseudonym used here and in some publications for Mimure.

Images in the Sri Lankan Vernacular collection were created between roughly 1960-2012, and were digitized by Cornell University Library from a variety of negatives, positives, and slides retained by the Estate of the photographer.
