Resettlement - Description:
- In Yiddish. 2 pages. Letter 1948 from Wrocław (Breslau) in Lower Silesia. Translated Summary: Informs Rubin Saltzman that following his visit they acted on his suggestion and set up a 'kirzshener' [furriers?] cooperative. Involvement of many Jewish worker-activists. Lists the directors (mostly from Warsaw) at the end of the letter.
- Notes:
- The JPFO was already funding agricultural and worker cooperatives in this region in 1946.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
