- in Yiddish. 3 pages. Printed on JPFO (English) stationery. Call for the Eighth National Convention of the Ordn, to take place January 1951 to discuss, among other issues, the founding of an old age home in Ridgefield, CT. Date is not clear, but branches are instructed to hold special meetings to choose delegates before October 15th, so September 1950 seems the latest likely date for this call to have been issued.
- Notes:
- New York State does not allow this national convention to be convened.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
