- This satirical map concerning the Army-McCarthy Hearings appeared in the same issue of Life that reported Joseph Welch's famous attack on Senator McCarthy: "Have you no sense of decency, sir?" The map, however, characterizes the Hearings as a maze, "silly," monotonous and inconclusive, rather than pernicious.
