- Notes:
- This is a striking German propaganda leaflet intended to discourage British troops from fighting in support of their Soviet allies. Stalin is illustrated as a giant red pig, bloated by the blood of enemy soldiers. The USSR is colored the same deep red, with its alleged supporters shown in red-and-white cross hatching: China, India, Iran, Arabia, North Africa, Turkey, northern Sweden, southern Italy and all of France!
On the verso are quotes from the great and respected, including George Bernard Shaw, Mackenzie King and General Smuts. Most dramatic are those from the American diplomat Sumner Welles ("a German Europe could have been a matter of indifference to us, a Soviet Russian Europe under any circumstances could only be our enemy") and from Winston Churchill in 1919 ("I repeat: We cannot treat with Bolshevism.").
