- Notes:
- A large and dramatic map emphasizing the range of French gastronomy not pictorially, but by the extent and density of the text. This map was folded into a folder entitled "Carte Gastonomique de la France par A. Bourguignon / Ex-Chef de Cuisine / Directeur de L' 'Ecu de France', Paris." On the verso of the folder is "Gourmets! Touristes! . . . documentez-vous sur les Specialities et les Crus des Regions que vous allez visiter" and a quote from Brillat-Savarin: "Dis-moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai qui tu es! [Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are]."
The collection includes a number of promotional maps related to the food and wine of France and other countries, beginning as early as 1809. Search > "Gastronomique."
