9 x 12.5 on page 23 x 15 (centimeters, height x width)
Notes:
This map appears in a 4-page pamphlet published by the Anti-Saloon League of America in 1919, after the requisite number of states had ratified the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, imposing nation-wide prohibition. The "Wet" and "Dry" Map of the World signals the the League's view of "World Prohibition" as "The Great Open Door. With National Prohibition of the liquor traffic in the United States IN SIGHT [it was scheduled to take effect in 1920], the next logical step is WORLD PROHIBITION."
The collection includes a number of other Prohibition-related maps; see Subjects > Alcohol. For an earlier Wet and Dry Map of the U.S., see ID #1183.01 (1916).
