- Description:
- On behalf of the 44,000 members of the Jewish-American Section, I.W.O., Saltzman hails the creation of the War Refugee Board by President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) as a means of rescuing Jews in Europe. Commits to American Jewish community support for all home and War efforts so as to ensure Allied victory.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
