American Jewish Congress - Description:
- This copy of Robert Moses' correspondance was originally included with Saltzman's letter to Irving Miller of the American Jewish Congress on the subject of the Sholem Aleichem monument. Moses suggests that Saltzman goes through the proper channels first, and delay any public announcements until after that happens and approvals are obtained.
- Notes:
- This set of letters regarding Robert Moses and Sholem Aleichem monument may be of broad interest
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
