- 3 pages. Addressed to the JPFO in general. Translated Summary: "I'm sending you back the list of members from the branch that you sent me..." Explains he wrote earlier saying that he is not well enough to be branch secretary, that the membership decided at their last meeting to dissolve the branch, and that they've asked that each person be sent separate bills for the dues they owe for 1946. Has helped all he could, did not expect to be secretary for life, refuses to do all the work for everyone in the branch any more. Requests not to receive mail for the branch.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
