Jewish Lodges - Description:
- Letter from R. Saltzman to Louis Lipsky confirming having sent the message requested by the American Jewish Conference to the President of the United States. Affiliated organizations were requested on January 19, 1945 to ask Franklin Delano Roosevelt to ensure that the "rescue, rehabilitation and the reconsitution of Palestine as a free and democratic Jewish Commonwealth" be placed on the agenda for upcoming [Yalta] conference.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
