Description:: Cover letter from David Sherman to All Affiliated Organizations of the American Jewish Conference regarding a draft of a resolution to be presented at community meetings throughout the United States in regard to the upcoming U.N. San Francisco Conference. Main points for the resolution on the U.N. conference are: "to secure a hearing for the American Jewish Conference..."; "An Internatonal Bill of Rights"; "Free and unrestricted immigration into Palestine and the speedy reconstituon of Palestine as a Jewish Commonwealth." Notes:: The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
