World Jewish Congress - Description:
- Signed letter from Wise informs Kahn of the dates of the upcoming August 12, 1947 World Jewish Congress in Switzerland. The JPFO is entitled to appoint one representative to the conference and Wise strongly urges participation in the meeting which will include representatives from more than 50 Jewish communities world-wide. Emphasizes the importance of decisions that will be made and of having full representation from American Jewish organizations.

- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
