IWO Legal Issues - Description:
- 50 pages. Cover letter and report from James Haley of the State of New York Insurance Department to the Superintendent of Insurance regarding Haley's financial examination of the International Workers Order, Inc. on January 25, 1949. James Haley files his financial report on the IWO's fiscal soundness for New York State Insurance Department’s Mutual and Fraternal Bureau.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
