This is a fragment of a very large, pale blue translucent glass bead with a golden cast. This bead is closest to type WIb5 in the system derived by Kenneth and Martha Kidd, which is often used by archaeologists to classify beads. This is a wire-wound bead-- wire-wound beads are created by winding heated glass around metal wire and then shaping while the glass is still hot. Kurt Jordan, Archaeologist
