This photograph shows the excavation trench surrounding the west end of House 3 (Trench 1) being refilled by mechanical equipment at the end of the excavation season. The bottom of the trench was lined with water-permeable landscaping fabric to protect underlying features. Grass seed subsequently was planted in the area to return it to the same state as it was in before excavation. Kurt Jordan, Archaeologist
