- Description:
- A map showing the property held by Cornell University in the year 1910. The extent of the university-owned property is indicated on the map by shading, covering central campus and large fields to the east, including two disconnected parcels: one to the north of Forest Home, the other to the south of Cascadilla Creek, abutting Dryden. Roads and footpaths are depicted as parallel lines and vary widths in accordance with real-world measurements. Streets are labeled with capitalized letters either on the inside or directly outside their parallel lines. An electric railway, indicated as a solid line with perpendicular bars, crosses Cascadilla Creek at the southern edge of campus and follows East Avenue north before crossing Fall Creek on the Northern edge. The footprints of university buildings are traced on the map, with the larger instructional buildings labelled with their name. Measurements are included along the property lines. The names of landowners other than the university are listed in the land parcels surrounding the eastern field of the university. In the bottom right corner of the map, a table lists latitudes and departures for “ADJUSTED COORDINATES MEDINA STONE MONUMENTS.”
