- Diagnosis: The machine tools of an efficient plant working near capacity were found to be cutting only 23 percent of their time. Even if idle time for repair and maintenance is not reduced, here's an easy remedy for doubling their output: by better planning cut time for handling and setup down from 48 to 25 per cent.
