Spinning machinery - Description:
- Illustration of the water frame, a water-powered spinning machine invented by Richard Arkwright for the mechanized production of cotton thread. The water wheel extending to the side powered spinning frame. The roving was attenuated by rollers at the top of the frame into progressively finer thread.
