Woodwork - Description:
- A black and white reproduction of a photo of a seated man turning wood. According to the Getty Museum, the man is using a foot operated spindle. However, he appears to be using a bow and string in his right hand to turn the work. His left hand holds a tool against the spindle. If the woodworker is using his feet (hard to tell from angle of the photo) it is to brace the work, not to power the lathe. The annotation on the original photo at the Getty Museum says the photo was taken in Gujarat.
