About this collection

This collection contains approximately 450 digitized documents from the Enos Thompson Throop Papers that chronicle the emergence of the Auburn Prison System. These materials were selected by Katherine Thorsteinston, PhD 2019, as part of a grant project.

Historical context

Dr. Thorsteinson wrote an introduction to the history of the Auburn Prison System as part of the digitization project that developed this digital collection.
